Volume II - The Summer Issue

"Right now, lipstick just simply isn't worth it."

As we continue to take extra precautions for our health, some of our normal routines have changed. But your need to look and feel beautiful doesn't have to take the back seat! Now, we'll simply focus less on our cheeks and lips, and more on the windows to our souls (I'm talking about your eyes). Lucky for you, I'm a brow specialist!

Time is of the Essence

Because your time is valuable, it's important to note that most of your basic makeup application is no longer required. Sure, a little BB cream or light foundation can make you feel better, but remember, your nose, cheeks, and chin are covered by the mask. If you apply too much makeup in that area, you risk having lines and smudges in your makeup once you take the mask off, so keep it light!

Gold Shimmer Never Disappoints

If you don't view yourself as "highly skilled" in makeup, one simple way to spruce up your look is to take your favorite gold shimmer shadow, your middle finger, and apply the eyeshadow to your lid in a tapping motion. Always give the edges a good blend!

Ever Wear a Strip Lash?

Step out of your comfort zone, and give 'em a try! If you find that lashes are uncomfortable, it could be because the strip is too long. Using tweezers, hold the lash (without glue) up to your lash line to measure. When trimming the lash, ALWAYS trim from the outer corner. (Pg. 11) for more strip lash tips!

Instagram Brows

The name may be cliche, but they have a reputation because they look BOMB (duh!). Instagram Brows are sharp, defined, and create that beautiful ombre effect. To achieve a more natural Instagram Brow, I use Anastasia BeverlyHills Brow Wiz , NarsRadiant Creamy Concealer, and a small, flat brush. Now that you've got your products, it's time to begin.

Fill in your brows:I start at the bottom and create a shadowly line from right before my arch to the end of my tail. Then, when filling the rest of the brow, I keep it light and feathery in the front, and begin adding more definition where the arch begins (don't worry, it doesn't need to be perfect!)

Define your brows:using your concealer & your flat brush, you'll begin "cutting" the edge of your brow to create a clean line. This takes a steady hand, so don't rush it. Once you've created a line that defines your brows, make sure you blend the concealer into your foundation!
