If you’re looking to get into the semi-permanent cosmetic industry, you cannot go wrong training with Séduire Academy. Take it from me, a three times certified Séduire student. Here is why I think they are amazing:

Séduire Academy is made up of a team of some pretty badass, talented women. Krystal Renee, a founder, and instructor at Séduire, has been performing permanent cosmetics since 2016. Her skill level is unbelievable and her complete understanding of these services puts you on the fast track to success. Her experience in the industry, and as an educator, has allowed her to create a “curriculum [that] eliminates gray areas that artists deal with so that they can be fully confident in performing these techniques.”

And it doesn’t stop there. Krystal recognizes that mastering these techniques is not a job that can be done in a few days. Her educational resources and mentoring are made available to all of her students after taking a class with her. Because most of the mastering is done at home, she has made herself accessible through multiple channels to answer questions and provide advice. Additionally, Krystal spends a lot of time doing product research on her own, ensuring she is always using the best quality materials with her clients. Everything that makes it through her extensive testing, whether it’s a new pigment or new tool, is shared with all of her students. Support like this is just hard to come by!

My Experience

Let’s be honest — microblading is not an easy thing to learn. Plus, I’m on an island (see A Journey: The Road To Permanent Cosmetics), traveling by myself, and really nervous about what I’ve gotten myself into. But all those worries went right out the window when I got to my first class. The room was set up so beautifully, and our kits looked so professional and sleek sitting on the table waiting for our excited hands to open them. That’s when I met Lisa! She handles all of the more business-y parts of Séduire, so she is the first person you meet to finish paying your tuition. Much like everyone at Séduire, she is very sweet and effective at her job!

Once that’s all said and done, class begins. Krystal is not only extremely knowledgable and highly skilled, but

she is also an excellent teacher. This excellence comes from her ability to help her students through the stresses that come about when learning these types of new skills. If you know me personally, you know how hard I can be on myself — especially when I am having a difficult time trying to do something. Krystal has done so much throughout my time at Séduire to build up my confidence.

On my model day at my first microblading class, I got extremely overwhelmed. I mean, c’mon, we’re practically tattooing someone’s face after two days of learning this technique. So I excused myself (and had a whole breakdown outside, but we don’t need to talk about that). After a couple of minutes, Krystal came outside. She was not mad, she was not upset, and she was not offended. She was so compassionate. Krystal told me to go back inside, clean myself up, and brush it off saying that I just needed to get some air. She helped me feel like it was not a big deal, that I shouldn’t be ashamed, and that I can go back in there with my head held high and finish the job at hand.

During that first microblading class, I was absolutely sold on Séduire. I signed up for their advanced class in San Francisco at the end of my second day with them in Hawaii. Since then, I have also taken their lip blush course! That was such a fun experience spent with some really cool women. Every time I see the Séduire ladies, I always feel the love! When you train with Séduire, you become a part of a really special family.
